Side

Side entry robots allow certain problems to be solved that may occur in plastic moulding and which cannot be performed using traditional top entry robots.

In particular, the SideFast CNC model allows for very fast cycles (up to 3 seconds for the total cycle): this is typical of the packaging industry where the pieces have very small thicknesses.
Very powerful motors and the special structure make it possible to achieve very short cycle times. In some cases this model can also be used to insert labels into the mould using “IML” technology.
The inlet axis into the mould is telescopic so as to limit the dimensions and achieve high speeds.
The wrist is rotated by means of a brushless servomotor.
The installation of this robot can be performed both by fixing it to the fixed plane of the press and by fixing it to the ground, disconnected from the press.

The Vertical CNC is used in cases where the height available in the plant is very limited and does not allow a robot to be installed in the usual position (above the fixed plane). It is positioned next to the press and fixed to the floor. The inlet axis into the mould is telescopic so as to limit the dimensions. The wrist is rotated by means of a brushless servomotor.
Another application of this robot is for use working on vertical presses.

We also design special versions of side entry robots according to customer specifications, both for complex IML systems and for use in “white rooms”.

OTHER TECHNICAL FEATURES

  • High power brushless digital servomotors for all axes;
  • Axis movement on prismatic guides and ball runner blocks;
  • Planetary gearboxes;
  • Inlet axis into the telescopic type mould;
  • Motion transmission via high strength toothed belts;
  • Management of the robot by digital numerical control;
  • Removable keypad with large touch screen colour display (10”/LED);
  • Interpolated axis movements;
  • Two analogue vacuum circuits on the wrist as standard;
  • 5 inputs and 3 auxiliary pneumatic circuits, freely programmable, on the wrist as standard;
  • 5 inputs and 5 freely programmable outputs, as standard on the electric panel;
  • Wrist rotation by freely programmable brushless servomotor (0-360°);
  • It is also possible to withdraw the pieces by means of pneumatic clamps or jacks;
  • Monitoring the grip of the pieces by means of analogue vacuum switches or photocells;
  • Timed outlet to drive the conveyor belt.

PROGRAMMING

  • Free Guided Programming (FGP) that allows work programs to be written  using “actions” already written and contained in a special library;
  • Self-learning of positions related to the axis movements;
  • Step-by-step and low-speed execution of the program, to check precision;
  • Programs can be stored on a USB drive;
  • Possibility of executing work cycles composed of any movement sequence;
  • Numerous workpiece palletizing and depalletizing schedules for filling pallets, boxes, etc.;
  • It is possible to enter into the main program various types of subprograms that are executed on request or if the pre-set conditions occur (for example, to discard defective pieces, insert cardboard reinforcements, etc.);
  • It is possible to extract pieces with undercut.
